About The Position

The ITS Communications & Operations Specialist provides strategic communications leadership and operational direction for the Information Technology Services (ITS) division. This role is responsible for independently developing, advising on, and executing communication strategies related to planned technology changes, enterprise incidents, and operational priorities while supporting the effectiveness of the CIO and ITS leadership team. This position exercises independent judgment in determining communication approaches, prioritizing stakeholder messaging, recommending process improvements, and ensuring communication practices support business continuity, organizational transparency, and effective governance across ITS. The role serves as a trusted partner to leadership on communication planning, operational readiness, and administrative processes that affect divisional operations. This position enhances organizational transparency, improves operational coordination, and ensures consistent execution of critical communication and administrative processes across ITS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, healthcare administration, public relations, journalism, or related field required.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in communications, business operations, executive support, project coordination, or a related function with demonstrated independent judgment and prioritization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for varied stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to assess audience impact, translate technical information into business-relevant messaging, and recommend communication approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands, exercise sound judgment, and manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • Experience using collaboration, scheduling, and communication tools to support executive and operational decision-making.
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, incident-driven environments and determine appropriate communication escalation needs.
  • Knowledge of change management, communication governance, and operational readiness practices.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to improve processes and workflows.
  • Knowledge of incident, crisis, and business continuity communications principles.
  • Ability to build effective partnerships and influence without direct authority across technical and business teams.

  • Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of preferred advanced training.
  • Experience in healthcare, information technology, enterprise communications, incident response, and change management environments preferred.
