About The Position

The Entry Level Training Program (ELTP) is a technical training program in Columbia, South Carolina. Participants complete an initial four- to five-month paid classroom training program designed to prepare entry-level IT professionals for careers in application and/or system development and support. The curriculum covers application development and deployment, IT service management, scripting, automation, networking, and security, among other topics. Related technology areas include development, maintenance, security, and support of corporate and subsidiary websites, voice response units, desktop applications, and infrastructure platforms. During training, participants apply technical and business concepts through classroom instruction, case studies, collaborative learning, field assignments, projects, and practical learning experiences. They must successfully complete assessments, presentations, projects, and other deliverables. After successful completion, participants are assigned to a department aligned with their field of study, continue to develop through mentoring and professional development, acquire additional skills, and are reclassified to the appropriate entry-level position. The role is in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and may require action and support outside normal business areas. The position is not eligible for sponsorship now or in the future.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in computer science or another IT job-related field obtained before July 1, 2027; alternatively, an associate degree in computer science or another IT job-related field obtained before July 1, 2027, plus two years of job-related IT experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well under close supervision and as part of a team.
Attention to detail.
Ability to complete assigned work in a timely manner.
Microsoft Office skills.

IT internship experience.

Responsibilities

Successfully complete required assessments, presentations, projects, and other program deliverables to demonstrate proficiency and readiness for Information Systems career opportunities.
After completing the program, join an assigned department, acquire additional knowledge and skills, and transition to the appropriate entry-level position.
Provide action and support in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, which may require work outside normal business areas.
