About The Position

The IT Technician is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to employees and maintaining the organization’s technology equipment inventory and systems. This position will assist users with computers, tablets, mobile phones, email, software, and other technology-related needs while ensuring company technology assets are properly tracked, maintained, secured, and deployed. Including any/all applicable platforms and apps used by the company. The ideal candidate is customer-service oriented, organized, dependable, and able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively while communicating with users of varying levels of technical experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Working knowledge of Windows computers and common business software.
  • Experience supporting email and mobile devices.
  • Familiarity with computers, tablets, smartphones, printers, and other technology equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly with asset tracking.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple support requests and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to explain technical issues and solutions in a way that non-technical users can understand.

Nice To Haves

  • IT-related education or certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in IT support, help desk, technical support, or a similar role preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and other Microsoft applications.
  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM).
  • Experience with IT asset management or inventory systems.
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or other relevant IT certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support to employees for hardware, software, and technology-related issues.
  • Liaison between IT MSP and employees.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving desktop and laptop computers, tablets, mobile phones, printers, monitors, and other hardware.
  • Assist employees with email setup, access, troubleshooting, and configuration.
  • Support users with Microsoft 365 or other business applications as required.
  • Set up, configure, and deploy computers, tablets, phones, and other technology equipment for new and existing employees.
  • Assist with password resets, account access, connectivity, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Diagnose hardware and software problems and escalate complex issues when necessary.
  • Provide remote and/or in-person technical assistance.
  • Document support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
  • Provide basic training and guidance to employees on company technology and applications.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of company technology assets.
  • Onboard and offboard IT equipment for employees and maintain accurate records of equipment assignment.
  • Manage the lifecycle of IT assets from purchase and deployment through replacement, return, and disposal.
  • Conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure asset records are accurate.
  • Ensure retired equipment is properly prepared for disposal and that company data is protected.
  • Follow company IT security policies and procedures.
  • Assist with keeping devices updated with required operating system and software updates.
  • Help protect company devices and information by following appropriate security practices.
  • Report suspected security issues, lost or stolen equipment, and unauthorized access promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company and employee information.
