About The Position

Directly works with Program Manager – Information Technology (IT) in support of JWCH staff. This role involves providing first-level support for hardware, software, networking, and other IT-related issues. The IT Technician will also assist with PC setup, configuration, troubleshooting, software installation, printer issues, and basic network problems. Accurate documentation of incidents and monitoring of technical documentation, licensing, and upgrades are key responsibilities. The position also supports the Program Manager with more complex projects, asset management, network support, connectivity, telecom, project management, cellular telephones, PDAs, and procurement. Additionally, the role requires configuring and troubleshooting multifunctional office devices and adhering to organizational safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in related field or equivalent experience as an IT Assistant or IT Technician.
  • Must be able to drive in the State of California.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite Applications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of an organization and with individuals form diverse backgrounds, disciplines and levels of technical experience.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with LAN/WAN connectivity issues, x86 hardware problems, cellular telephone and PDAs preferred.
  • Experience with A+ preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, evaluates, prioritizes and provides first level support for incoming requests for assistance from JWCH users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other related problems.
  • Queries user to collect information about problem and lead user to through basic diagnostic procedures to determine source of error.
  • Provides support in PC set-up and configuration, troubleshooting, software installation and configuration, printer troubleshooting, and basic network issues.
  • Accurately records problem information on system and monitors progress of incidents. Documents each interaction or attempted interaction with user.
  • Reviews and monitors technical documentation, licensing, and upgrades.
  • Assists with Program Manager with more complex projects.
  • Assists the Program Manager with asset management, network support, connectivity, telecom, project management, cellular telephones, PDAs, and procurement.
  • Configures and troubleshoots problems related to multifunctional office devices such as fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, postage machine, cellular telephones, and PDAs.
  • Requires travel from site to site and light lifting.
  • Adhere to all organizational safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Participate in required safety and compliance trainings and apply learned practices in daily work activities.
  • Identify, report, and help mitigate unsafe conditions, incidents, or hazards in the workplace.
  • Use equipment, tools, and supplies safely and responsibly in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain awareness of infection control, occupational health, and emergency preparedness procedures appropriate to the role.
  • Participate in JWCH’s customer service training called AIDET on an annual basis.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You) to apply in patient encounters or team discussions.
  • Utilize the AIDET communication framework to communicate with patients and team members in a manner that reduces patient anxiety, increases patient compliance, and improves clinical outcomes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
