About The Position
The IT Technician is responsible for the administration of systems, diagnosis of faults, repairs, and licensing. This role involves monitoring computer and process-related equipment, maintaining computer networking (hardware and software) at the facility, and overseeing client operating systems. The technician will also support IT-related production systems. Magna Exteriors is a global leader in automotive exteriors, providing a wide range of products and services from materials development to manufacturing and assembly.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of client operating systems (Windows 11).
- Basic networking skills.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- A++ certification is a plus.
- Able to follow direction.
Responsibilities
- Administer systems, diagnose faults, perform repairs, and manage licensing.
- Monitor computer and process-related equipment.
- Maintain computer networking, including hardware and software at the facility.
- Oversee client operating systems.
- Support IT-related production systems.
- Install and/or remove software as necessary.
- Train users in the basic operation of PC hardware, software, and related office components (printers, copiers, facsimiles, etc.).
- Monitor assigned system components on a 24-hour/7-day basis.
- Respond to system malfunctions and take corrective action during/after normal business hours.
- Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.
- Follow procedures to ensure system and equipment security and protect file integrity.
- Install, configure, and support the company's LAN/WAN and internet system.
- Monitor the network, including internal and external security measures.
- Ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and following all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
