About The Position

The IT Technician is responsible for the administration of systems, diagnosis of faults, repairs, and licensing. This role involves monitoring computer and process-related equipment, maintaining computer networking (hardware and software) at the facility, and overseeing client operating systems. The technician will also support IT-related production systems. Magna Exteriors is a global leader in automotive exteriors, providing a wide range of products and services from materials development to manufacturing and assembly.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of client operating systems (Windows 11).
  • Basic networking skills.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A++ certification is a plus.
  • Able to follow direction.

Responsibilities

  • Administer systems, diagnose faults, perform repairs, and manage licensing.
  • Monitor computer and process-related equipment.
  • Maintain computer networking, including hardware and software at the facility.
  • Oversee client operating systems.
  • Support IT-related production systems.
  • Install and/or remove software as necessary.
  • Train users in the basic operation of PC hardware, software, and related office components (printers, copiers, facsimiles, etc.).
  • Monitor assigned system components on a 24-hour/7-day basis.
  • Respond to system malfunctions and take corrective action during/after normal business hours.
  • Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.
  • Follow procedures to ensure system and equipment security and protect file integrity.
  • Install, configure, and support the company's LAN/WAN and internet system.
  • Monitor the network, including internal and external security measures.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
