About The Position

The Allen County Public Library is looking for a customer-focused IT Technician to join their Information Technology team. This role will provide hands-on technical support for staff across the library system, ensuring that computers, devices, and technology remain reliable. The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting, learning new technologies, and making a difference behind the scenes.

Requirements

• An associate degree in Information Systems or a related field or a high school diploma with formal IT training
• Two years of experience providing hardware and software technical support, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience supporting Windows computers, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and LAN environments
• A valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals
• Responding to Help Desk requests and ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally
• Managing user accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365, including password resets and access changes
• Assisting with network connectivity, basic server support, and escalating complex issues when needed
• Maintaining accurate documentation, asset inventories, and support records
• Contributing to disaster recovery readiness by keeping endpoint devices updated
• Participating in technology projects, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Providing friendly, easy-to-understand technical guidance and instruction to library staff
