About The Position

The IT Technician Intern works alongside experienced technology professionals to support the systems and infrastructure that keep Mt. Bachelor operating smoothly. The role provides technical support across resort departments and facilities, assists with devices, networks, point-of-sale systems, endpoint management, and technology deployments, and contributes to documentation and operational readiness. The intern will gain hands-on experience with enterprise IT support, service management, networking, Microsoft 365 and Intune, cybersecurity, resort technology systems, and technology projects. This is a full-time role based in Bend, Oregon, with work taking place across offices, guest service areas, retail locations, restaurants, rental shops, lodging facilities, and mountain operations environments.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 products.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to walk between resort facilities and work in varying environments.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as Wi-Fi, switches, and IP addressing.
• Experience installing or supporting computer hardware and peripherals.
• Familiarity with macOS, mobile devices, or endpoint management platforms.
• Interest in outdoor recreation, hospitality, or resort operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for resort employees across Guest Services, Ski & Ride School, Rentals, Retail, Food & Beverage, Lodging, and Administration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, printing, and connectivity issues.
• Assist with deployment, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and tablets.
• Support Wi-Fi and network connectivity troubleshooting across resort facilities.
• Assist with point-of-sale systems used in retail, rental, ticketing, and food and beverage operations.
• Help maintain technology inventory, asset tracking, and equipment lifecycle records.
• Assist with user onboarding, account provisioning, and device setup.
• Support endpoint management initiatives using Microsoft Intune and Microsoft 365 technologies.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and user guides.
• Participate in seasonal technology deployments and winter operations readiness projects.
• Support conference rooms, digital signage, guest-facing systems, and business applications.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and support teams on technology initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
