About The Position

Pagosa Springs Medical Center (PSMC) is seeking a customer-focused and technically skilled IT Technician I to support day-to-day healthcare IT operations across the organization. This position provides technical assistance to end users in person, by phone, and remotely. The IT Technician I is responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and system issues; supporting Help Desk operations; maintaining IT equipment and inventory; and assisting with installations, upgrades, and routine maintenance activities. The ideal candidate enjoys problem solving, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing excellent customer service to internal users throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years of IT experience required
  • Current AHA BLS (Heartsaver) certification required
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced computer skills required
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and provide reports
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Experience with: Microsoft operating systems, Hardware troubleshooting, Networking fundamentals, Software support, Remote support tools

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent education, training, and/or experience will also be considered

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Help Desk support requests
  • Provide Tier 1 technical support to end users throughout the organization
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to: Computers, Software, Printers, Mobile devices, Networking, Peripheral equipment
  • Escalate complex issues to other IT team members as appropriate
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on IT equipment
  • Assist with software installations, upgrades, updates, and backups
  • Configure commonly used software applications and user workstations
  • Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets
  • Assist with documentation of vendors, systems, and IT processes
  • Read technical manuals and utilize diagnostics tools to investigate issues
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with IT policies and procedures
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal users
  • Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical users
  • Maintain timely communication and follow-up on support requests
  • Work collaboratively with departments throughout the organization
  • Assist with IT projects, deployments, and operational initiatives
  • Support multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Participate in on-call support as assigned
  • Provide summary information and updates to leadership when requested
