About The Position

Under the general direction of the IT Manager, performs entry-level technical support work for Town departments and facilities, including frontline troubleshooting, equipment setup, basic software support, customer service, and related operational assistance. This position learns Town systems, follows established procedures, and supports innovation by identifying practical improvements and helping staff use technology tools effectively.

Requirements

  • Valid Texas Driver License and safe driving record.
  • Ability to pass required background review, including CJIS-related review when applicable.
  • Relevant training, technical aptitude, or equivalent entry-level experience in information technology.
  • Basic knowledge of computers, Microsoft 365, devices, printers, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Ability to learn quickly, follow procedures, and provide dependable frontline support.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work professionally with Town staff.

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA ITF+ or A+.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Provide telephone, remote, and on-site support for hardware, software, printers, peripherals, user accounts, and related technology issues.
  • Set up, configure, deploy, replace, and support computers, mobile devices, and other assigned equipment.
  • Assist users in resolving hardware, software, network, and application issues through troubleshooting, diagnostic tools, and direct support.
  • Support daily IT operations, including software installation, workstation setup, equipment replacement, and general technical maintenance.
  • Support audio-visual equipment setup for meetings and events as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records, ticket notes, and documentation related to service activity and project work.
  • Participate in after-hours, on-call, emergency, or meeting support when required.
  • Carry a Town-issued mobile device when required for timely communication regarding support issues.
  • Contribute to innovation by recommending practical technology improvements, supporting automation efforts, and helping departments use existing tools more effectively.
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Respond to routine service requests involving workstations, printers, mobile devices, software, passwords, and basic connectivity.
  • Perform entry-level troubleshooting and escalate more complex issues to higher-level staff or the IT Manager.
  • Assist with imaging, setup, deployment, and replacement of computers and related equipment.
  • Provide dependable frontline customer service and maintain accurate ticket notes.
