IT Team Lead (Professional Project Manager)

USP ManagementFort Lee, NJ
$90,000 - $120,000

About The Position

USP Management, Inc. is seeking a senior-level IT Team Lead (Professional Project Manager) to lead our technology team and serve as a key technical partner to executive leadership. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a purely supervisory one: the IT Team Lead will guide the team's technology strategy and execution, directly manage developers, modernize our ERP and data infrastructure, and drive AI-enabled improvements in a bilingual (Korean–English) corporate environment. This role involves translating business goals into actionable technical plans that support company growth across Sales, Supply Chain (SCM), Accounting, and Operations, and acting as a key bridge between executive leadership and the engineering and operations teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of progressive technology experience, including 3+ years directly managing software engineers or technical teams.
  • Demonstrated software architecture depth (system design, data modeling, integration patterns) with the ability to remain hands-on.
  • Proven experience owning ERP and/or core business systems, including modernization or migration projects.
  • Cloud platform experience (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure acceptable) and modern data/BI infrastructure.
  • Strong project and portfolio management discipline; experience reporting to and influencing leadership.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean (verbal and written)—required for direct communication with executive leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry experience in steel, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or supply chain.
  • Familiarity with modern data stacks (BigQuery, Dataform, Looker Studio) and warehouse-driven analytics.
  • Software design experience with patterns such as Domain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, and incremental modernization (Strangler Fig).
  • Experience defining AI strategy, governance, and company-wide AI adoption programs.
  • Experience managing technology vendors and onshore/offshore delivery partners.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., GCP/AWS, PMP).

Responsibilities

  • Help define the technology vision and multi-year roadmap aligned to business objectives and growth, and recommend technology investment priorities.
  • Establish architecture, security, data, and engineering standards, and lead build-vs-buy and platform decisions.
  • Report technology strategy, progress, risk, and ROI to leadership on a regular cadence.
  • Serve as the main technology point of contact for Korean executive leadership, communicating strategy, status, risk, and business impact fluently in both Korean and English.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business language, and translate business priorities into actionable technical direction for the team.
  • Act as a cultural and operational bridge in a Korean–American corporate environment.
  • Directly manage, mentor, and grow the software development team; set hiring plans, performance expectations, and development paths.
  • Establish and uphold engineering best practices: code review, architecture review, documentation, testing, and release management.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and architectural guidance on critical systems and complex problems.
  • Own the technology project portfolio: prioritize, sequence, resource, and de-risk initiatives across competing business needs.
  • Run structured project/sprint management (e.g., Jira, agile cadences) with clear milestones, dependencies, and status reporting.
  • Manage external vendors, contractors, and SaaS partners, including scope, SLAs, and delivery accountability.
  • Identify and deliver technology capabilities that enable revenue growth, margin improvement, and operational scale.
  • Partner with business units to digitize and automate manual workflows, improving speed, accuracy, and decision quality.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for competitive advantage and propose initiatives with clear, measurable business cases.
  • Lead modernization, integration, and reliability of core ERP and business systems, including platform upgrades and migrations.
  • Own cloud infrastructure strategy and operations, including cost, security, scalability, and reliability.
  • Build out the company’s data and analytics capabilities (data warehousing, BI, and reporting) into a trusted foundation for decision-making.
  • Help set the company-wide AI adoption strategy, approved tooling, and a practical AI governance, ethics, and responsible-use framework.
  • Lead enablement programs that put AI assistants and automation into the hands of non-technical staff.
  • Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance standards are built into all AI and automation initiatives.
