About The Position

The IT Systems Technician provides hands-on, on-site support for business systems and end users, focusing on maintaining reliable IT operations and minimizing downtime. This is a user-facing role designed for someone who can manage day-to-day technology issues independently while coordinating with the IT Manager and a third-party Managed Service Provider (MSP) for escalations and cybersecurity support. This role is ideal for a technically skilled, physically capable professional who enjoys problem-solving, working directly with users, and performing hands-on technical work in a dynamic environment. This position works closely with other departments to ensure SIRE continues to operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

Requirements

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and/or relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications with equivalent experience
2–4 years of hands-on experience in a dedicated Windows Server environment
Proficiency in Windows Server (2019/2022) administration and Active Directory/Entra ID management
Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams) and basic Azure infrastructure
Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft platforms
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate effectively with end users
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task
Ability to work well with others and the ability to work independently
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

Maintain and optimize Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory, Group Policy, and core network services including DNS and DHCP.
Manage, configure, and secure the Microsoft 365 suite and Azure cloud environments to support organizational growth and compliance.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN systems.
Implement routine security patching, manage backup verification processes, and execute data recovery protocols to protect organizational assets.
Serve as a escalation point to resolve complex technical issues and provide guidance to the Business.
Develop PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive administrative tasks and maintain clear, comprehensive technical documentation.
Other duties as assigned by management.
