About The Position

Valto is searching for an IT Systems Technician to be based out of our Channahon, IL facility. Reporting to the IT Systems Supervisor, to provide first-line technical support within a manufacturing and plant environment. This role is responsible for supporting office and production employees with hardware, software, printers, scanners, workstations, basic network connectivity, and remote support issues that impact daily operations. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, communicates effectively, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of minimizing downtime to keep plant and business systems running efficiently. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, computer hardware, printers, mobile devices, common business applications, and remote support tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot end-user technology issues in office, plant, and remote support settings.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to support users at varying technical skill levels.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, respond quickly to operational issues, and document work accurately.

Nice To Haves

  • associate degree, technical training, or certification in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
  • Internship, coursework, lab experience, or prior support experience in manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, or help desk environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level IT support for office staff, plant personnel, remote users, and shared production-area devices.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, label printer, scanner, connectivity, and remote access issues that affect plant operations.
  • Set up and maintain desktops, laptops, tablets, handheld devices, and workstation equipment used in office and manufacturing areas.
  • Provide remote support using approved support tools to diagnose and resolve end-user issues across locations when onsite assistance is not required.
  • Assist with user accounts, password resets, access requests, and device readiness for new hires and role changes.
  • Support shared workstations, timekeeping terminals, and other end-user technology used on the shop floor.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and recurring issues in the ticketing system and escalate more complex problems when needed.
  • Perform routine equipment checks, basic maintenance, software updates, and hardware swaps to reduce downtime.
  • Coordinate with operations, supervisors, and senior IT staff to resolve issues impacting production and business continuity.
  • Follow site safety requirements, IT procedures, cybersecurity standards, and support expectations in a plant environment.
