MACOM sells and distributes products globally via a sales channel comprised of a direct field sales force, authorized sales representatives and leading industry distributors. Our sales team is trained across all of our products to give our customers insights into our entire portfolio. We are seeking an individual with strong expertise in IT Infrastructure field. This role will be responsible for administration of and improving our Linux environment as well as provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Also, they need to participate in research and development to drive innovation and efficiency within IT infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Intermediate to advanced Linux administration skills.
  • Architecture: Recommends and develops mission critical solutions; makes recommendations to address capacity constraints, performance limitation on wide range of technologies.
  • Excellent documentation and analytical skills.
  • Project management: Ability to provide a thorough planning approach to large scale projects. The ability to define physical and logical resources is needed to complete a project and meet deadlines. Experience leading project teams.
  • Inter-personal and communication skills: Capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a supplier liaison, making presentations to customers, clients, and professional peers. Act as a technical leader and mentor.
  • Linux and / or Windows administration
  • Virtualization : VMWare / Nutanix
  • Backup and recovery : Veeam
  • Cloud : AWS / Azure / GCP
  • 8+ years related IT System Administration experience
  • 10+ years of IT related experience
  • Relevant certifications
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree
  • Ability to work independently and in teams reaching high levels of productivity.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrate strong work ethics.
  • Willing to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within the Semiconductor Industry a plus.
  • Hardware installation and management : HP, Dell, Netapp etc.
  • Data Center management : Power, rack space, cooling etc.
  • Storage : NFS, CIFS, iSCSI etc.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Powershell, Python, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Manage MACOM’s IT infrastructure and related services.
  • Provide technical recommendations for services performance and reliability improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership to Run function team.
  • Installing, configuring, maintaining, performing upgrades and downgrades, troubleshooting, documenting for systems, servers, and infrastructure devices and related services.
  • Recommends and develops mission critical solutions; makes recommendations to address capacity constraints, performance limitation on wide range of technologies.
  • Evaluate performance, monitor workloads, and analyze results to ensure optimal operations.
  • Develop and improve upon operational procedures and standards.
  • Lead/coordinate projects including new installations, upgrades, retrofits, etc.
  • Enterprise business and engineering applications support
  • Partner with business to gather requirements and ensure needs are being met.
