About The Position

Intuitive Machines is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Systems Administrator to support and maintain our enterprise IT infrastructure in a fast-paced aerospace environment. This role is responsible for ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable systems that support mission-critical engineering, manufacturing, and flight operations teams. The ideal candidate thrives in highly technical environments, understands compliance requirements, and can balance user support with long-term infrastructure strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration in a corporate or technical environment.
  • Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V).
  • Experience managing Linux systems in enterprise environments.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 (Office 365), including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Azure AD/Entra ID.
  • Proficiency supporting Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) in an enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls).
  • Experience with endpoint management and patching systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or government-contracted environments.
  • Familiarity with CMMC, NIST 800-171, or ITAR-controlled environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and enterprise device management.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft 365 security and compliance tools (Defender, Purview, Conditional Access policies).
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Experience with backup solutions such as Veeam or similar platforms.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., Security+, Network+, Microsoft, VMware, or CISSP).

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Windows and Linux server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and virtualization platforms.
  • Manage enterprise storage systems, backups, disaster recovery solutions, and business continuity planning.
  • Maintain network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, VPNs, and secure remote access solutions.
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives in alignment with NIST 800-171, CMMC, and other government compliance frameworks.
  • Provision, configure, and maintain user endpoints (workstations, laptops, engineering systems).
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 (Office 365) environment including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Support secure enclaves and controlled unclassified information (CUI) environments.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support specialized software environments (CAD, simulation tools, mission operations systems).
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Manage cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
  • Develop and maintain IT documentation including system architecture diagrams, SOPs, and configuration baselines.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to support mission-critical operations as needed.
