About The Position

The systems Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, operating systems, and related applications. This role ensures the security, availability, and performance of technology systems while providing technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Key responsibilities include system monitoring, network administration, security management, software deployment, data backup and recovery, documentation, and technical support.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer, Information Sciences, or Management Information Systems.
5-7 years of experience, knowledge and skills in the Information Systems field with knowledge of the practical application of computer science technology including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of services.
Must have knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written to convey information or ideas effectively and the ability demonstrate active listening skills.
Proven expertise in Windows Server environments, Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu), and virtualization.
Hands-on experience managing cloud platforms.
Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs), firewalls, and cybersecurity best practices.
Demonstrated ability to create scripts for automation and system management.
Experience with patch management and ITSM frameworks (ITIL, ServiceNow, or similar).
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Must demonstrate critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning skills to identify the challenges and opportunities of alternative options. Analyzing information and evaluating options and implement the best solution.
Must have excellent skills in negotiation, persuasion, judgement and decision making to be successful in considering relative costs and benefits of actions and take positive financial decisions.
Must demonstrate excellent monitoring and assessment skills to make improvements or take corrective action for both employees and organization.
Must have excellent skills in coordinating resources as well as conducting tests and inspections of computer systems and evaluate quality or performance and troubleshoot and determine causes of operating errors and finding solutions.
Must have excellent interpersonal relationships to be able to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships across the business. Dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations.
Must have excellent time management skills.
Must have excellent knowledge and skills in office suite like Excel, Outlook, Internet browsing and practical application of mathematics to solve problems.
Must have knowledge of administration software, configuration management software, data base management system software, database user interface and query software and query software, development environment software, enterprise resource planning software, object or component oriented development software and web platform development software.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain servers, network devices, storage systems, and endpoints across Windows, Linux, and macOS platforms.
Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, and related network services.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement timely solutions to prevent downtime.
Implement and enforce IT security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN access.
Conduct regular backups, disaster recovery drills, and data integrity testing to ensure business continuity.
Deploy, maintain, and optimize virtualized environments.
Create and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or other scripting tools.
Plan, pilot, and deploy new technologies and system upgrades.
Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation and internal IT policy guides.
Provide technical support and mentoring for other IT staff and end-users.
Manage vendor relationships, hardware warranties, and software licensing compliance and renewals.
Manage Office 365 Software, Sage 100, Custom Shop Floor
Create and maintain IT SOP policies and procedures
Manage onboarding and off boarding and policy configuration changes of users.
Participate in on-call rotation to support critical systems outside business hours as needed.
