The Role Bright Power seeks an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our Technology team's IT division. This role will take the lead in managing technical projects related to application consolidation, system integration, and optimizing Bright Power’s technology stack. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a solutions-oriented mindset, and a collaborative approach to ensure our systems are seamlessly integrated and aligned with business objectives. This individual will also support Bright Power’s Help-IT support channel to address IT needs and maintain relationships with external vendors to ensure smooth technical operations.

Requirements

  • Degree, or pursuing a degree, in IT, Software, Business Intelligence, or other relevant academic programs.
  • Proven experience as an IT systems administrator, engineer, or development resource
  • 2+ year proven administrative or development experience with Okta, Microsoft, 365, Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Confluence, Egnyte, Zoom, or other related business productivity tools
  • Experience in maintaining cloud-based IT network infrastructure and security configurations
  • Technically proficient in cloud application integration via native or API-based communication
  • Technically proficient in computer and mobile operating system support, including Windows 10, macOS, iOS, Android
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong work ethic and able to work independently and multitask
  • Critical thinking and problems solving abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven track record in working as part of a team to maintain and improve internal systems
  • Interest in learning about buildings, construction, and its relation to energy and environmental issues

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to consolidate and streamline Bright Power’s application stack, identifying redundancies and optimizing system configurations.
  • Execute technical integrations of SaaS applications and internal systems, leveraging APIs and automation tools.
  • Maintain and improve configurations for core applications, including Okta, Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira, Confluence, Egnyte, and Claude ai.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues related to system performance, application functionality, and network connectivity.
  • Oversee and implement system updates, migrations, and improvements to enhance functionality and security.
  • Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure, including cloud services (AWS preferred), network devices, and other technical components.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and manage service providers to execute technical tasks, resolve issues, and implement system improvements.
  • Evaluate vendor solutions and services to ensure alignment with Bright Power’s technical needs and business goals.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the internal Help-IT channel, addressing IT-related requests efficiently and professionally.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical challenges and ensure timely resolution for end-users.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for technical configurations, processes, and workflows.
  • Develop and refine IT processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency and system reliability.
  • Work closely with internal teams to understand business requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Assist in creating training materials and assist sessions to educate end-users on system changes and optimizations.
