About The Position

As an IT Systems Administrator, you will be instrumental in overseeing the performance and availability of servers, services, VMware Environment, and the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) (Citrix) environment. You will ensure that all hardware, operating systems, and critical applications remain accessible and efficient, thus contributing to our organization's seamless operations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, although an associate degree with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience in administering Microsoft's Office 365 suite.
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Windows Server management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cloud and/or hybrid architectures for computing and storage, with a preference for experience with platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Practical experience in supporting and managing CAD/CAM and PDM environments, including software license management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to and master new technologies as needed to meet evolving IT needs.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to translate complex technical information to non-technical users.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong emphasis on accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage various tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with vendor management and knowledge sharing practices would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced-level support for day-to-day operations involving user desktops, servers, and related software or hardware, collaborating with team members to troubleshoot and resolve client/server issues.
  • Manage and support for VMware virtual environments and SAN-based storage systems, including HPE Alletra devices.
  • Manage and support for Citrix VDI environments and Nutanix systems.
  • Actively engage in problem management, identifying risks and opportunities for system enhancement, and effectively resolving client/server issues.
  • Configure and support remote desktop services/terminal servers for seamless client application access.
  • Liaise with external vendors for troubleshooting, support, and system upgrades
  • Provide after-hours network support as required, ensuring 24/7 system availability.
  • Oversee system security, including operating system safety measures, application security, and access procedures.
  • Adhere to and support the company's Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements.
  • Take charge of planning and executing OS upgrades, software patches, and data migrations between systems.
  • Plan and execute VMware host, vCenter, and SAN firmware upgrades in alignment with IT standards and maintenance windows.
  • Ensure servers are regularly patched in accordance with IT policies and procedures, maintaining system integrity.
  • Plan, size, and maintain Windows servers and the services that run on them, ensuring system performance and stability.
  • Assist with the planning, implementation, and testing of backup and recovery measures (Disaster Recovery).
  • Monitor and update Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), aiding in performance management.
  • Support backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies across VMware and SAN, and CommVault platforms, ensuring recoverability and performance objectives are met.
  • Support CAD/CAM and PDM environments and manage software licensing.
  • Handle network license management/installation software resources.
  • Configure, support, and maintain the corporate Citrix VDI environment, including managing the corporate IGEL imaging server.
  • Coordinate with vendors for software acquisition, licensing, and upgrades.
  • Participate in company meetings and Operational Excellence Programs.
  • Maintain an organized work area (5S) and document software and server environments.
  • Conduct training sessions for other staff members on new systems, applications, or procedures and create user-friendly documentation and resources.
  • Capable of working in a manufacturing environment and completing all other assigned duties.
