IT Systems Administrator

AutomoxAustin, FL

About The Position

Automox is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to maintain its internal IT infrastructure. This role involves ensuring endpoints are enrolled and compliant, managing identity and SaaS access, and automating repetitive tasks. It is a hands-on, individual-contributor position within a small, dynamic team, focusing on practical application of tools rather than extensive meetings. The ideal candidate is someone who prefers automating solutions to performing tasks multiple times.

Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years in IT systems administration or a related role, ideally in a cloud-first SaaS environment.
  • Hands-on automation and scripting in PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
  • Proficiency in using AI coding tools and the judgment to catch errors in AI-generated code.
  • Endpoint management experience with Jamf and Intune.
  • Cloud access and IAM experience in AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with identity and SaaS platforms (Google Workspace, Atlassian, GitHub) and workflow automation tooling (SOAR or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical instinct to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions.
  • Collaborative, cross-functional working style.
  • Ability to pass a federal, state, county background check.
  • Ability to complete a local in-person verification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the macOS and Windows fleet end to end, enforcing CIS controls using Jamf and Microsoft Intune.
  • Maintain high and measurable enrollment, configuration, and patch compliance for endpoints.
  • Automate endpoint actions, close compliance gaps, and reduce manual IT workload by writing and maintaining Bash and PowerShell Worklets in Automox.
  • Serve as an internal feedback loop to Product and Engineering by reporting bugs and suggesting features as a daily user of the Automox product.
  • Provision, deprovision, and govern access across the identity provider and SaaS estate (Google Workspace, Atlassian, GitHub), automating the joiner-mover-leaver lifecycle.
  • Administer access and IAM across cloud accounts (AWS and Azure), focusing on access governance and account hygiene.
  • Design and deploy automations using workflow automation tooling or a SOAR equivalent to integrate IT, identity, and SaaS systems and eliminate repetitive work.
  • Manage the internal ticket queue, handling level 1 and escalated level 2 tickets, and meeting SLAs.
  • Analyze current systems and processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose and implement solutions.
  • Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and stay updated on cloud and automation practices.
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance work speed and quality, with the judgment to review AI output for correctness and security.
