About The Position

The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for coordinating the data processing functions and performing specialized duties primarily in the area of data management, in compliance with government and management directives. This role involves monitoring data communications, providing first-line support for operational problems, and resolving computer software and hardware issues for users. The administrator will regulate access to computer data files, monitor their use, and update security files. They will also install, modify, and repair microcomputer hardware and software systems, providing technical assistance and training to users. Key responsibilities include overseeing the operations of the center’s computer network systems and the department's data processing functions, performing tests on data equipment to identify malfunctions, and coordinating technical matters with the corporate information systems department. Additionally, the role requires coordination with supervisors to ensure the full operational status of various computer information systems and programs, resolving any arising problems in conjunction with corporate IT and the data center. The administrator will also perform network maintenance and security monitoring for Job Corps students, maintain accountability for students and property, adhere to safety practices, and work towards meeting performance standards. This includes following the CDSS plan and Code of Conduct, adhering to property control policies, maintaining good housekeeping, and complying with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Bizzell’s policies and procedures, Job Corps notices, and Center policies. The role requires demonstrating and abiding by The Bizzell Group’s core values, operating principles, and modeling Career Success Standards to help students become more employable. Participation in mandatory PRH-mandated staff training is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or related network certification.
  • Directly related technical experience in systems analysis may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements.
  • Two (2) years of experience in installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting computer systems (hardware & software); and other various technical office equipment.
  • Presents information both clearly and concisely and regularly confirms the correct interpretation of information.
  • Very high standard of communication skills both written and verbal for the presentation of facts and ideas.
  • Shows professional non-verbal body language and actively listens to others.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate data processing functions and perform specialized duties in data management.
  • Monitor data communications to ensure network availability and resolve communication problems.
  • Provide first-line support services for operational problems.
  • Investigate and resolve computer software and hardware problems of users.
  • Regulate access to computer data files, monitor data file use, and update computer security files.
  • Install, modify, and make minor repairs to microcomputer hardware and software systems.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to system users.
  • Oversee the operations of the center’s computer network systems.
  • Oversee the data processing functions of the department.
  • Perform tests on data equipment where error conditions occur to determine the source of malfunctions.
  • Coordinate technical matters and scheduling problems with the corporate information systems department.
  • Coordinate with supervisor records to ensure the computer information systems (CIS), CITRIX portal, career development system suite (CDSSuite), and other programs installed are fully operational and resolve any problems that may arise in coordination with corporate information technology (IT) and the data center.
  • Perform Job corps student network maintenance and security monitoring of usage.
  • Maintain accountability of students and property.
