The IT Systems Administrator is a technical role responsible for designing, improving, documenting, testing, modifying, and supporting the computer systems, endpoint environments, identity and access workflows, workplace applications, and local technology infrastructure that enable Athena employees to work effectively. The role's primary duty is to apply systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users and business stakeholders, to determine hardware, software, access, endpoint, application, and local network functional specifications. The position then designs, configures, documents, tests, modifies, and improves computer systems and workplace technology solutions based on those user and system requirements. The position includes responsive technical support and escalation work, but it is structured as a systems analysis and systems engineering role rather than a routine help desk or hardware repair role. Support activity should be used to identify requirements, diagnose technical root causes, validate system changes, and implement durable improvements to Athena's technology environment.
