About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented IT Systems Administrator & Workplace Migration Specialist to lead in the organization's digital transformation. In this role, you will be the primary technical owner responsible for seamlessly migrating the entire workforce, data, and infrastructure from Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace. The ideal candidate possesses deep hands-on experience with cloud tenant architectures, complex email routing, secure data pipelines, and change management. You will design the architecture, execute the cutover, and minimize operational downtime while ensuring zero data loss across emails, calendars, and cloud storage files.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4–5 years in cloud system administration, with at least one successful, large-scale migration project moving an organization from Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace.
  • Expert-level knowledge of the Google Workspace Admin Console and the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
  • Strong understanding of DNS zone files, email authentication frameworks (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), and mail routing principles.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation (e.g., structuring and auditing CSV mapping files for mass user provisioning).
  • Strong project management abilities, excellent communication skills for training non-technical workers, and a calm demeanor during high-stakes maintenance windows.

Nice To Haves

  • Google Workspace Certified Professional Administrator or Professional Collaboration Engineer.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert.
  • Experience writing automation scripts (e.g., Google Apps Script, PowerShell, or GAM) for batch user management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive audit of our current Microsoft 365 environment, mapping all users, shared mailboxes, aliases, distribution lists, permissions, and security groups.
  • Design and provision our new Google Workspace tenant, structuring the Organizational Units (OUs), Shared Drives, and security policies to align with business requirements.
  • Formulate a detailed, phased migration roadmap (including a pilot testing group) to ensure a controlled and stable deployment.
  • Configure and execute enterprise-grade migration pipelines using native utilities (e.g., Google Workspace Migrate, Data Import Service) or trusted third-party tools.
  • Manage user mapping, folder mapping, and permissions to safely transfer emails, calendar events, contacts, and cloud files (OneDrive/SharePoint) to Google Drive.
  • Identify, isolate, and remediate technical edge cases, such as handling oversized email attachments (exceeding Google's 25MB limit), corrupted files, or nested folder paths.
  • Temporarily adjust Microsoft Exchange Web Services (EWS) throttling policies and API controls to maximize data throughput during transfer batches.
  • Manage network architecture adjustments and DNS provider settings (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC records) to seamlessly switch mail routing with zero bounced messages.
  • Implement secure identity management, ensuring clean transition of Single Sign-On (SSO) configurations and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) parameters.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create communication timelines, training materials, and documentation to transition users smoothly into Google's browser-first ecosystem.
  • Act as the Tier 3 escalation point for all migration-related bugs, permission issues, or data synchronization discrepancies.
  • Perform post-migration cleanup, safely decommissioning old Microsoft 365 licenses and archiving legacy data per corporate compliance standards.

Benefits

  • medical coverage
  • state-mandated sick leave
