About The Position

The IT Support Technician will be responsible for providing technical support to end-users, maintaining and troubleshooting desktop hardware and software, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for technology.

Requirements

  • A college diploma in Information Technology, or equivalent work experience in the field.
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating systems and Office 365.
  • Strong knowledge in the installation and configuration of workstations and their peripherals including mobile phones.
  • Eligibility to secure a LEVEL II – SECRET security clearance, demonstrating trustworthiness and responsibility.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a knack for addressing complex technical challenges.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other IT professionals.
  • Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment.
  • A customer-centric approach, consistently delivering service that meets and exceeds expectations.
  • Fluent in English, with proficiency in French considered an asset, ensuring clear and effective communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Collegial diploma in Information Technology.
  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, peripherals, and software applications.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates on desktop systems.
  • Assist with the setup and deployment of new equipment.
  • Provide support to video conference room and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions and ensure tickets are closed within the Service Level Agreements (SLA) period.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure seamless IT operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on best practices and IT policies.
  • This may include writing end user documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and procedures.
