IT Support Technician
About The Position
Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S) is looking for an individual that has a passion for providing IT supports, is an exceptional communicator, and is a natural problem solver. Under the direction of the IT Manager, the IT Support Technician is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of technical and operational IT supports to current and future information technology systems and infrastructure. To be successful in this position, you’ll need to be committed to quality standards and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team on solutions in a changing IT landscape.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of computer systems, networks, software, and hardware.
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role.
- A valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation to our downtown location at 310 20th St E Saskatoon would be required.
- The successful candidate must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
Nice To Haves
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline is an asset.
- A combination of relevant experience and education will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of strategic and operational planning.
- Capacity to act with tact and discretion and maintain confidentiality of user data and information.
- Works well independently and as a team.
- Embrace challenges related to working in areas of rapid growth.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT.
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of end-user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Assist helpdesk support and follow through resolutions to end-user's satisfaction.
- Support other departments in their development and use of IT systems and resources.
- Any other duties and responsibilities as directed by the IT Manager or Deputy Chief of Administrative Transformation.
