About The Position

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for assisting in providing first on-call support for supported software applications to meet business needs. In addition, when not fully occupied with on-call support, the IT Support Specialist will assist with validation, maintenance and project work for supported systems. The IT Support Specialist performs troubleshooting, resolution and documentation tasks when issues arise with supported systems. May lead or participate in specific ITIL roles and processes.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in computer science, business, mathematics or related field
  • Typically less than 2 years of applicable experience
  • Must understand installation, configuration, and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, and networking equipment

Responsibilities

  • Register and classify received incidents and to undertake an immediate effort to restore / analyze failed IT Service as quickly as possible. If no solution can be achieved more senior support will be brought in to assist.
  • Directly provides data to and from users and Business and IT partners to help drive resolution of major IT/system incidents and problems Performs function and data validations for supported software applications.
  • Ensures technology readiness and appropriate solutions for business needs
  • Provide troubleshooting and incident management for applications or processes supported
  • Document incident resolution and procedures for future reference
  • Understanding of the core technologies in the supported applications or processes
  • Install software and/or computer peripherals for users
  • Perform validations for supported applications and processes
  • Provide work direction to junior members
