About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a IT Support Specialist to join the Data Power and Control Team in Farmingdale, NY. The IT Support Specialist provides technical support to company employees, ensuring reliable operation of hardware, software, and network systems. This role serves as the primary point of contact for end-user technical issues onsite while also delivering remote support to global sites and users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of IT user support experience
  • Proven IT experience supporting end users and computer systems
  • Working understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP network protocols
  • Familiarity with ITSM principles and best practices
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled at diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification preferred
  • Preferred experience supporting Windows servers and network environments

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct technical support for end users at the Legrand Data, Power, and Control onsite and remote support for global sites and users
  • Support manufacturing operations, including Windows computers, OT systems, and IoT devices
  • Liaise with IT functional experts to ensure correct and timely support is delivered
  • Resolve general hardware and software technical issues
  • Maintain and repair computers and peripheral devices
  • Facilitate new employee setup, deployment, and onboarding
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT equipment
  • Install and configure software on user machines
  • Manage cybersecurity vulnerabilities and partner with IT staff and business users on cybersecurity initiatives
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs with third-party vendors
  • Purchase and provision IT supplies
  • Perform other duties as necessary or assigned
