Together, Stelumar is delivering housing people are proud of. The IT Specialist is a hands-on, early career role in a fast-scaling advanced manufacturing environment. Operating at a Tier 1–1.5 support level, this role is the frontline IT resource for SAMI’s corporate and manufacturing teams, resolving most hardware, software, connectivity, cloud, and access issues, with escalation as needed. Beyond day-to-day support, the role provides structured exposure to enterprise and manufacturing IT, including Microsoft 365 and Azure, servers, backups and DR/BCP, IT/OT networking, ERP (Odoo), MES and shop-floor systems, PLC environments, endpoint security, and AI tooling. With direct mentorship and increasing responsibility, this is an excellent entry point for someone seeking a strong foundation in enterprise and manufacturing IT.

Requirements

  • College Diploma or University Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Foundational understanding of computer hardware, Windows OS, TCP/IP networking, and Microsoft 365 tools, with the ability to resolve common end-user issues independently.
  • Interest in IT infrastructure concepts (server environments, backup/recovery, cloud, endpoint security, enterprise networking), with a focus on hands-on learning under management guidance.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Azure AD administration through academic work, personal study or prior experience, and a desire to deepen expertise.
  • Awareness of or curiosity about enterprise systems like ERP (Odoo or comparable), MES platforms, or OT/PLC environments in manufacturing.
  • Interest in cybersecurity, DR/BCP concepts, AI tools, or industrial technology, demonstrated through coursework, certifications, or self-study.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with a service-oriented approach to supporting users at all technical levels.
  • Intellectual curiosity and growth mindset, seeking root causes and taking ownership of personal development.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate documentation in a dynamic, multi-site environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior co-op, internship, or part-time IT support experience in a professional or technical environment.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, ITSM ticketing platforms, endpoint management tools, or backup software (academic or work experience).
  • Interest in manufacturing technology, OT environments, ERP or MES systems, or industrial IT (certifications, coursework, or self-study).

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 and 1.5 support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Support IT onboarding and offboarding across SAMI’s primary sites, including device imaging, account provisioning/deprovisioning, and Microsoft 365 administration (user/group management, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, MFA, and Conditional Access troubleshooting).
  • Monitor backup status and escalate anomalies, assist with backup verification.
  • Troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless connectivity issues, escalating to IT Admin as needed.
  • Support endpoint protection tasks (patch compliance, enrollment, security maintenance).
  • Develop familiarity with SAMI’s server infrastructure, ERP (Odoo), backup systems, MES systems, and shop floor technology environments through direct participation in infrastructure support activities.
  • Gain introductory knowledge of SAMI’s PLC environments and IT/OT integration through facility exposure and structured learning alongside senior IT team members.
  • Assist with the adoption of AI tools being introduced within SAMI’s IT and manufacturing environments, including training and first-level troubleshooting.
  • Manage hardware and software asset records across SAMI’s primary facilities, including inventory audits and asset updates.
  • Contribute and maintain the IT knowledge base, process guides, and standard operating procedure documentation.
  • Participate in IT projects, including system testing, configuration support, and end-user communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.
