About The Position

The IT Support Specialist provides invaluable frontline technical support for the Division of Student Affairs. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting hardware and software. The role requires strong customer service skills, technical proficiency and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment serving a broad university community. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in information technology, computer science or related field
  • At least one year of relevant experience providing technical support in a customer-facing role OR At least three years of relevant experience providing technical support in a customer-facing role
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve user issues quickly and professionally
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical users
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to learn new technologies and methodologies
  • Ability to work in a welcoming student-centered environment
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting mixed environments, with emphasis on Windows systems, macOS, and iOS/iPadOS devices
  • Experience with configuration management and software deployment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Intune and Active Directory
  • Asset management experience (hardware lifecycle, inventory audits, decommissioning)
  • Experience supporting conference room setups
  • Experience with ITIL service management and enterprise ticketing systems (TeamDynamix, ServiceNow, etc.)
  • CompTIA A+ or similar certification
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities
