About The Position

The IT Support Specialist Intern will be assisting our IT Support Specialists while they support Accra’s internal roles on a regular basis. The main focus for the IT Support Specialist Intern will be to exercise their problem-solving abilities to resolve technical issues, gain hands on experience for troubleshooting common technical problems, and providing timely solutions to those they assist. The Intern will: Assisting in setting up profiles, email accounts, and other tasks related to onboarding new employees. Performing regular maintenance on existing hardware and computer systems operating efficiently. Assist internal employees by answering help requests. Consistently utilizing the ticketing system to monitor, manage, and track all incident requests regardless of origin. Assist the IT Service Desk team on additional projects and tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Working towards a B.A., B.S., or a A.A. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • Ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously with regular interruptions while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Have effective communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to communicate challenging concepts both in-person, over the phone, and in electronic communication.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain a high standard of professional courtesy, flexibility, confidentiality, and discretion while working collaboratively, independently and as a team member.
