About The Position

The IT Support Representative is responsible for responding in a timely manner to helpdesk tickets for Danbury/Brazil/Canada and mobile sales. This position helps end users resolve issues, remove viruses, restore files, support cell phone issues and other resolve other basic IT end user issues.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of computer hardware and Microsoft Windows XP.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows 2003 operating system.
  • At least an intermediate level of knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003 components.
  • Ability to learn computer related technology quickly.
  • Ability to logically analyse and troubleshoot computer hardware and software problems in an expedient manner while exercising necessary caution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate clearly in English and patience in dealing with end users.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in Computer Science or Business degree with major in Management Information Systems is preferred or equivalent experience in information technology.
  • Familiarity with networking systems and hardware a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Respond in a timely manner to all helpdesk tickets for Danbury/Brazil/Canada and mobile sales.
  • Assist end users with all basic IT related issues.
  • Escalate as necessary if unable to resolve to other team members.
  • Provide software support to end users including installation, laptop configuration, virus problems, malware removal etc.
  • Provide hardware support as well as basic troubleshooting tasks to ensure users hardware is effective in allowing them to perform their job duties.
  • Use Empirum software distribution application to roll out computers as well as software.
  • Work closely with key production personnel tasked with supporting production equipment.
  • Assist with IT related needs including help with workstations and network connectivity.
  • Understand different VLAN network segments in the Danbury office and ensure equipment is tied to the correct network.
  • Able to perform basic network troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for shipping systems configuration, compatibility, testing, documentation and shipping systems support.
  • Work closely with Desktop Engineer on all IT related issues and projects.
  • Responsible for printer maintenance and service requests.
  • Install workstations and laptop docking stations as well as test connectivity for new users and move any IT related equipment as necessary.
  • Participate in maintaining IT equipment inventory.
  • Cross train on any and all IT functions to ensure technical knowledge and resources are available to meet critical business needs.
  • Take detailed notes on troubleshooting efforts taken and if unable to resolve issues, report as necessary to for escalation to the rest of the team.
