About The Position

The IT Support Intern provides front-line technical support for employees at Anchor Ingredients and North Freeze Dry. Reporting to the Senior Technical Lead, this part-time position primarily resolves help desk requests and assists with account administration, computers and other devices, and routine infrastructure tasks. The intern will gain hands-on experience across office and manufacturing settings while following documented procedures and working within approved access and supervision levels.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing, or recently completed, a degree or certificate in information technology, computer science, networking, cybersecurity, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
  • Familiarity with Windows 10 or 11 and Microsoft 365 applications, with the ability to learn new tools and documented processes.
  • Strong customer service, communication, organization, and troubleshooting skills; ability to prioritize requests and ask for guidance when appropriate.
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential information and administrative access; attention to detail when documenting work.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional travel between company locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 administration, or a help desk ticketing system.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VLANs; familiarity with PowerShell is a plus.
  • Relevant coursework or progress toward CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to requests through the ticketing system; gather details, troubleshoot, record actions and resolutions, and escalate issues when needed.
  • Support Windows laptops and desktops, printers, phones, and conference room technology, including setup and basic troubleshooting.
  • Help employees use Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and other approved applications; explain solutions in clear, practical terms.
  • Assist with creating, changing, and disabling accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365 according to approved requests and documented procedures.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding checklists, including group membership, distribution lists, shared mailboxes, and license assignments; verify approvals before changing access.
  • Prepare and configure computers for new or existing employees; update equipment records and coordinate the secure return, wiping, and reuse of devices.
  • Assist with approved software deployments, patches, and device updates through the remote monitoring and management system.
  • Under the direction of the Senior Technical Lead, help review server alerts, backup status, storage capacity, and service health, and assist with routine maintenance.
  • Assist with basic network and physical security system tasks, such as cable organization, access point checks, and authorized camera or badge system administration.
  • Maintain accurate ticket notes, hardware inventory, user instructions, and internal IT procedures.
  • Participate in system rollouts, migrations, and cleanup projects; follow change, security, and safety procedures when working at either site.
  • Protect confidential company and employee information, use assigned access only for authorized work, and promptly report suspected security issues.
