About The Position

The Office of Technology Services (OTS) was established to recognize cost savings through the consolidation of State IT assets and resources. OTS leads the State’s technology procurement process to standardize technology, seek operational efficiencies, and ensure scalability of new products. The State intends to secure temporary IT personnel for the following job titles: Senior Application Administrator and Data Architect.

Requirements

• Ten (10) plus years professional experience in health or related data or systems management (Senior Application Administrator)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Management Information Systems, or Information Technology (Senior Application Administrator)
• Prior experience working with public health agencies (e.g., CDC, NIH, or State Departments of Health) to modernize legacy data infrastructures (Senior Application Administrator)
• Ten (10) plus years professional experience in data ecosystems writing SQL queries, building ETL pipelines, and designing data architecture (Data Architect)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Management Information Systems, or Information Technology (Data Architect)
• Prior experience working with public health agencies (e.g., CDC, NIH, or State Departments of Health) to modernize legacy data infrastructures (Data Architect)

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in public health, health informatics, data science, or other related field (Senior Application Administrator)

Responsibilities

• Select and manage a team of data modernization and informatics staff (Senior Application Administrator)
• Lead the team’s strategic planning and implementation process (Senior Application Administrator)
• Manage data infrastructure to improve data integration, enhance interoperability, assure effective data governance, and support the development of reporting and visualizations (Senior Application Administrator)
• Ensure modernization efforts achieve improved timeliness and quality of data, better coordination of data activities and systems, reduction of data burden, and integration of emerging and open-source technologies where possible (Senior Application Administrator)
• Coordinate with experts across the agency to assess the agency data environment and identify improvements required for the development of an effective data warehouse and data integration strategy (Senior Application Administrator)
• Design the vision and blueprint of an organization’s data framework (Data Architect)
• Design and manage data systems, set policies for how data is stored and accessed, coordinate various data sources within an organization, and integrate new data technologies into existing IT infrastructures (Data Architect)
• Data modeling and design, including software development and database administration (Data Architect)
