About The Position

O'Dell HVAC Group is seeking an IT Specialist to join their team. Reporting to the VP, Technology, this role is crucial for supporting and maintaining the organization's technology infrastructure and providing technical support to employees. The position involves daily IT operations, system administration, troubleshooting, and technology implementation to ensure secure and efficient business systems. The IT Specialist will collaborate with teams on hardware, software, business applications, and IT projects, aiming to improve processes and user experience.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in computer science or related program.
  • A minimum of one to two (1–2) years of experience in an IT helpdesk or technical support role.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and end-user technologies.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems or prioritizing services relating to system and network administration
  • Excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills, and the ability to pivot and adapt quickly
  • Strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in both French and English is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with business systems (e.g., CRM/ERP platforms) considered an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools and/or AI solutions (e.g.,Copilot, or similar platforms is not a requirement but nice to have).
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support across all office locations, including Microsoft 365, end-user devices, and core business systems.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Support employee onboarding, offboarding, and role changes by provisioning user accounts, managing system access, and preparing equipment.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and security settings across business applications and network resources.
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system performance to ensure reliable operations.
  • Support internal business systems through basic troubleshooting, testing, user assistance, and system maintenance.
  • Assist with infrastructure and technology projects, including hardware deployments, office expansions, vendor coordination, and system implementations.
  • Create and maintain IT documentation, knowledge base articles, and user guides to support efficient operations and self-service.
  • Identify opportunities to improve IT processes through standardization, automation, and emerging technologies where appropriate.
  • Ensure IT systems, equipment, and processes comply with company security standards and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventories, software licensing records, and equipment lifecycle documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Stay current with new technologies and recommend improvements that enhance business operations and the end-user experience.
