About The Position

BearingPoint is a global management consulting firm with over 6,000 employees worldwide, supporting clients across a wide range of industries. In the U.S., BearingPoint operates in a growth phase with three primary legal entities: BearingPoint U.S., Inc. – Advisory Consulting Services, BearingPoint NA, LLC – SAP Implementation Services (Joint Venture with Abeam), and Arcwide – IFS Implementation Services (Joint Venture with IFS). This role will support all three entities, with a primary focus on the Chicago office. We are seeking a proactive and hands-on IT Specialist to serve as a key point of contact for our Chicago office. This is a highly visible, on-site role that blends IT support, office operations, and employee experience. You will play a critical role in keeping the office running smoothly—supporting employees, enabling leadership, and partnering with global IT teams and local vendors. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and being the “go-to” resource for both technology and office needs.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support, office administration, or a similar hybrid role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Comfortable supporting both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience with hardware, software, A/V, and basic networking support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and solution-oriented
  • Proactive and resourceful with a strong sense of ownership
  • Calm, patient, and service-focused approach
  • Comfortable working independently in an on-site, fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Fluency in English required
  • Interest in leveraging technology and AI tools to improve efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Provision, configure, and deploy laptops for employees across all U.S. entities
  • Partner with HR to support onboarding and offboarding (equipment setup, access, and recovery)
  • Ensure new hires are fully equipped and operational on day one
  • Track, maintain, and manage IT assets (devices, serial numbers, ownership, and location)
  • Provide hands-on support for office hardware, including monitors, docking stations, and peripherals
  • Troubleshoot and support conference room A/V and collaboration tools
  • Coordinate with global IT teams and local vendors to maintain office network and Wi-Fi infrastructure
  • Deliver end-user support and training on tools such as Microsoft 365, Teams, and emerging AI solutions (e.g., Copilot)
  • Support leadership with ad hoc technology needs and process improvements
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for employees, leadership, vendors, and building management
  • Oversee day-to-day office operations, ensuring a well-maintained and productive work environment
  • Manage reception-related responsibilities, mail, deliveries, and office communications
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers (facilities, maintenance, office services)
  • Support internal meetings and events, including logistics and coordination
  • Order and manage office supplies and vendor relationships
  • Assist with travel coordination and visitor support as needed
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and administrative materials
  • Provide support across functions (HR, Finance, Marketing, and Operations) as needed
