About The Position

The IT Specialist needs strong knowledge of computers and how they operate, including a broad understanding of hardware and software, operating systems, and basic computer programming. Familiarity with electronic equipment, Internet applications, and security may also be required. This position requires good communication skills due to frequent interaction with clients. Requirements

  • Broad understanding of hardware and software, operating systems and basic computer programming
  • 1 - 3 years’ experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and maintenance within the organization's desktop computing environment
  • Install, diagnose, repair, maintaining and upgrade all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance
  • Troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via email) in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user assistance where required
  • Diagnose computer problems on computer equipment and programs
  • Monitor computer-processing systems on computer equipment and programs
  • Install software on computer equipment and programs
  • Perform tests on computer equipment and programs
  • Set up computer equipment, schedule maintenance and teach clients to use programs
  • Other job duties can include minor repairs and computer parts ordering
  • Basic Knowledge and understanding of Networking (Cisco, Meraki equipment, Printers)
  • Able to work without direct supervision
  • Troubleshooting and problem-Solving skills
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future desktop hardware and application needs
  • Conduct research on desktop products in support of PC procurement and development efforts. Evaluate and recommend products for purchase
  • Write technical specifications for purchase of PCs, desktop hardware and related products
  • Assist support team in site transitions and continued maintenance
  • Evaluate tickets from previous week and develop strategic and proactive measures to better support the organization depending on findings
  • Assist with creation of users in active directory and exchange
  • Knowledge of office 365
  • Ability to support Audio/Video over the phone and onsite
  • Provide on-site support as needed (Desktops, Printers, network equipment)
  • Some daytime travel and overnight travel may need to be performed depending on issues and projects at hand
  • Hardware and software documentation
  • Hardware and software inventory management
  • Manage and coordinate hardware repairs in conjunction with Support
  • Develop and maintain computer images as needed
  • Assist in application and hardware rollouts as needed; Office 365, Sharepoint, Digital Signage, networking equipment, Airwatch, Great Plains
