About The Position

The IT Specialist will provide onsite and remote technical support for IT hardware, software, and network systems within 75 miles of Richmond, VA territory. When travel is required a company vehicle is provided. This is a full-time, exempt (hourly) position assigned to a First Shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone. Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.

Requirements

  • AS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or Cyber Security
  • 1 year or more of experience providing desktop, network, or IT support in a corporate or laboratory environment.
  • 1 year or more of experience with networking, hardware/software installation, setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Able to pass standard motor vehicle background screen

  • 1 year or more experience supporting laboratories or healthcare IT systems
  • 1 year or more experince supporting a multi-location IT support environment

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Labcorp-owned hardware for IOPs, PSCs, and client-facing systems; document asset tags
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues; use remote access tools when applicable
  • Provide first-level technical support for Windows desktops/laptops, local and network printing, networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN), and specialty/proprietary lab systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues completely and accurately; provide training to end-users as needed.
  • Follow RMA processes for equipment returns and support security initiatives by replacing outdated hardware.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and security standards during all service activities
  • Process hardware/software requests including ordering, setup, installation, and testing.
  • Collaborate and Route advanced/second-level system issues to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Assist with specialty laboratory system support and configuration.
  • Travel within assigned territory to complete support tickets and installations; document time, mileage, and task status
