About The Position

Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our internal technology environment. This role ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of systems while providing hands-on support to employees across the organization. In French, the role ensures the smooth operation, security, and optimization of the company's IT systems, provides technical support to employees, and actively contributes to operational continuity. This position is for an autonomous, organized individual capable of managing multiple priorities in an evolving environment.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking environments
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS
  • Hands-on knowledge of Windows Server and Linux systems
  • Familiarity with networking technologies, including VPNs, firewalls, and Ubiquiti equipment
  • Experience managing identity and access systems (e.g., Active Directory)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency
  • Relevant experience in technical support and system administration

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automation/scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python)
  • Exposure to endpoint security tools and monitoring platforms
  • Experience in a scaling startup or tech-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical support across hardware, software, and network systems, ensuring timely resolution of issues
  • Manage and resolve incidents and service requests through a ticketing system, maintaining SLA performance
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access across systems, networks, and cloud platforms
  • Maintain directory services (e.g., Active Directory), including authentication and group policies
  • Perform system maintenance, including updates, patching, and backups to ensure stability and business continuity
  • Monitor and validate backup systems, including periodic recovery testing
  • Configure and support network infrastructure (VPNs, firewalls, endpoint security, Ubiquiti environments)
  • Deploy and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and other IT equipment
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes in collaboration with HR (account setup, access provisioning, device management)
  • Maintain clear and accurate IT documentation, including SOPs and asset inventories
  • Support AWS cloud environments (compute, storage, networking)
  • Contribute to IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements
  • Develop scripts and automation workflows to improve operational efficiency
  • Promote IT best practices and provide user training on security and tools
  • Enforce IT security policies, including access control and vulnerability management
  • Monitor system and network performance, proactively identifying and resolving risks
  • Act as a liaison with third-party vendors and escalate complex issues when needed
  • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing
