About The Position

The IT Specialist will be responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading PC hardware/software and related equipment. This role also involves installation and occasional troubleshooting of various networked components. The specialist will interface with regional IT management on IT projects, remote jobsite setups and takedowns, and address outstanding issues. A key part of the role is responding to ITSM tickets, performing on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end-users, and recommending/implementing corrective solutions. The IT Specialist will also install, configure, test, maintain, and troubleshoot user workstations, mobile devices, and related hardware/software to ensure optimal service levels. Collaboration with system engineers is expected to maintain efficient operations of the company’s desktop computing environment. The role includes maintaining an inventory of technology equipment, coordinating with LECs, ISPs, and cabling contractors, and assisting with the development of technical and procedural documentation. The IT Specialist will act as a business liaison to communicate business needs to IT management, maintain knowledge of the company's values and strategic plan, support published corporate policies, and perform additional assignments as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), A+ Certification, Network+ Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, current technology protocols and procedures, and networking concepts/principles.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

  • Installs, diagnoses, repairs, maintains, troubleshoots, and upgrades all PC hardware/software and related equipment, with some installation and occasional troubleshooting of various networked components such as routers, firewalls, switches, servers, access control systems, wireless access points, UPS’s, printers, multifunctional devices, and phone systems.
  • Interfaces with regional IT management on IT projects, remote jobsite spin-ups, teardowns, and all outstanding issues.
  • Respond to Flatiron’s ITSM based tickets, performing on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end-users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions.
  • Installs, configures, tests, maintains, and troubleshoots user workstations, mobile devices (phones, tablets, etc.) and related hardware or software to deliver required desktop service levels.
  • Collaborates with system engineers to ensure efficient operations of the company’s desktop computing environment.
  • Maintains inventory of technology equipment.
  • Coordinates and liaises with LEC’s, ISP’s, and cabling contractors.
  • Assists with the development of technical and procedural documentation as needed.
  • Acts as business liaison to communicate business needs to IT management.
  • Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic plan
  • Supports published corporate policies.
  • Performs additional assignments per management’s direction.
