Oakland County is seeking an experienced communications technician to join their team and maintain the reliable digital communications infrastructure used by emergency responders and public safety professionals. This on-site position involves performing skilled preventive maintenance and repairs on the County’s digital communications systems, including the 700/800 MHz Motorola P25 simulcast subsystem of Michigan’s Public Safety Communications System (MPSCS) and the County’s 420 MHz Motorola MOTOTRBO radio communications system. The role also includes maintaining and repairing pager and fire hall alerting systems, attending specialized training, and staying current on system software and upgrades.
