About The Position

NerdsToGo Plano is seeking an IT Sales Engineer to lead their B2B growth. This is a high-visibility role for someone who understands how technology drives business. The IT Sales Engineer will be the face of NerdsToGo, engaging with local small businesses to identify their needs and engineer solutions to help them thrive. This role involves technical solution engineering, managing the full sales cycle, business development through networking and outreach, coordinating client onboarding, and acting as a trusted advisor to business clients.

Requirements

  • Top performer in tech retail (Apple, Best Buy, Verizon) with a sales-first mindset.
  • Hunter mentality, motivated by winning and unafraid to initiate conversations with local businesses.
  • High-level communication skills, able to explain technical concepts like Cybersecurity and Managed Services to CEOs in terms of business bottom line.
  • Deeply comfortable with Windows/Mac environments, networking basics, and cloud concepts (Microsoft 365/Google Workspace).
  • Ambition for Business-to-Business (B2B) consulting, moving from consumer-facing retail.
  • Understanding of how technology drives business.

Responsibilities

  • Audit local businesses' networks, security, and cloud setups to engineer a custom IT roadmap.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from initial discovery meetings to presenting proposals and closing contracts.
  • Actively hunt for new opportunities in the Plano area through networking and outbound outreach.
  • Coordinate with lead technicians to ensure a flawless client transition to services.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business clients, ensuring they have the right technology as their companies grow.
