About The Position

The IT Quality Management Lead will join and report to the Application Lifecycle Management team. They'll be responsible for defining, governing, and continuously improving Quality Assurance practices across the Energy Business Systems (EBS) portfolio. This role ensures the solutions implemented for business needs and requirements meet the quality standards of the organization. It provides oversight of QA planning, execution, and validation for both Waterfall (REGS and packaged applications) and Agile (custom development) initiatives, ensuring solutions meet quality, reliability, and business readiness standards before release. This position is based in our headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field
  • Relevant QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB, ITIL)
  • 5-10 years of experience in QA, software testing, and quality management
  • Experience defining and operationalizing quality gates, metrics, and governance
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, defect lifecycle management, and test management practices
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and documentation quality
  • Ability to prioritize and execute under deadlines while managing risk
  • Occasional evening and weekend work to support release deadlines
  • Travel up to 10% to visit our project sites on occasion

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience leading QA teams across both Waterfall and Agile delivery
  • Working knowledge of enterprise platforms such as Oracle, Workday, Salesforce, Procore, and/or similar systems

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain Quality Strategy, including standards, policies, metrics, and quality gates across the delivery lifecycle.
  • Establish portfolio-level testing approaches for Waterfall/REGS and Agile/custom initiatives, including test levels (Functional and Non-Functional Test, Integration, SIT, and E2E) and entry/exit criteria.
  • Partner with Solution Engineering and Business Analysts to ensure requirements are testable and traceable to test cases and defects.
  • Define quality metrics and dashboards (e.g., defect leakage, test coverage, pass rates, release readiness) and drive corrective actions.
  • Continuously evaluate tools and market practices for QA, test management, and automation to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Oversee QA readiness for release across all initiatives, ensuring test evidence and sign-offs are complete and aligned to governance requirements.
  • Ensure regression strategies are in place and are executed for production-impacting changes, including vendor updates and configuration changes.
  • Oversee defect management practices, including severity definitions, triage cadences, root-cause analysis, and resolution verification.
  • Ensure test artifacts are created and maintained (test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, test evidence) using standard templates.
  • Collaborate with the Change Control Board to enforce quality gates during change control and release readiness reviews.
  • Lead the QA workstream of a cross-functional project involving multiple departments and external consultants.
  • Lead, coach, and performance-manage QA resources (Lead QA Analysts, QA Analysts, and Test Automation) and ensure capacity aligns with portfolio demand.
  • Drive standardization of QA practices across teams and initiatives, balancing delivery speed with risk control.
  • Serve as an escalation point for quality risks and recommend go/no-go decisions to ALM leadership.
