IT Project Manager
About The Position
Alpha Omega is seeking an IT Project Manager to support an IT portfolio within a PMO for one of our clients. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring continuity of operations, serving as the primary point of contact for all IT Projects, organizing tasks in order of priority with the government product owner, and managing, tracking, and reporting on all tasks to ensure compliance with HSI standards. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Program Manager, Deputy Program Manager, Government PMs, and OCIO ITPMs. The candidate will also take ownership of IT security and privacy documentation, become knowledgeable of all systems to coordinate security and privacy issues, and document new initiatives like AI working groups and technology demonstrations. Ad hoc workload assignments are also expected.
Requirements
- 5+ Years of experience as a Product Owner or Project Manager.
- Knowledge of various agile business analysis techniques including interviewing, brainstorming, problem discovery, and MVP identification.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders at varied levels.
- Experience in supporting business and project teams in translating complex business needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to ask probing questions to business team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to manage and lead meetings.
- Experience using JIRA and Confluence.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in an environment leveraging IT frameworks.
- Active or recent previous DHS experience HIGHLY desired.
- At least 2 years of experience in Product or Project Management.
- Proven track record of delivering data driven solutions with a customer-first mindset.
Responsibilities
- Ensure continuity of operations with the Program Manager and/or Deputy Program Manager.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT Projects.
- Organize all tasks and work in order of priority with the government product owner.
- Manage, track, and report on all tasks, ensuring compliance with HSI standards.
- Work with the Program Manager and/or Deputy Program Manager, Government PMs, and OCIO ITPMs to complete tasks.
- Take ownership of all IT related security and privacy documentation.
- Be the primary POC for all IT related projects with government PMs.
- Become knowledgeable of all systems to better direct and coordinate all security and privacy issues.
- Document and maintain records for new initiatives, including Artificial Intelligence working groups and new technology demonstrations.
- Be assigned workload on an ad hoc basis.
