IT Project Manager

DBM Global Inc.•Phoenix, AZ

About The Position

The IT Project Manager leads the planning and delivery of technology initiatives that support DBM Global’s business strategy, operational performance, security, and growth. The role organizes cross-functional work, defines scope and outcomes, maintains delivery discipline, and aligns business and technology stakeholders from project initiation through adoption and closeout. The position manages multiple projects of varying size and complexity across infrastructure, applications, integrations, data and analytics, cybersecurity, and IT operating-model improvements. The Project Manager owns the delivery system—including plans, governance, dependencies, risks, decisions, communications, and reporting—while technical decisions remain with the appropriate owners. The position is performed indoors and may involve sitting for eight or more hours per day. The employee is occasionally required to stand. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualifying disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

  • Strong command of project planning, estimation, scheduling, dependency management, risk and issue management, change control, financial tracking, governance, and closeout practices.
  • Working knowledge of predictive, agile, and hybrid delivery methods, with the judgment to tailor governance to project risk and complexity.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and business matters clearly to executives, operational leaders, technical teams, and vendors.
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation, conflict-resolution, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and common project or portfolio management platforms.
  • Working understanding of IT architecture, cybersecurity, privacy, compliance, service transition, and change-management considerations sufficient to engage appropriate subject-matter experts.

  • PMP, PRINCE2, Certified ScrumMaster, PMI-ACP, or comparable project delivery certification.
  • ITIL, Prosci/change-management, or another relevant technology or business certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned technology projects from intake and definition through planning, execution, transition, and formal closeout.
  • Translate business objectives into project charters, scope statements, success measures, requirements, milestones, resource plans, budgets, and acceptance criteria.
  • Build and maintain integrated project schedules identifying owners, dependencies, critical-path activities, decision points, and implementation-readiness requirements.
  • Establish appropriate project governance, including working-team cadences, steering updates, stage gates, status reporting, decision logs, and escalation paths.
  • Coordinate business leaders, IT teams, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders; clarify accountability and drive completion of commitments.
  • Manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and changes; escalate when tradeoffs or sponsor decisions are needed.
  • Prepare accurate status reports for sponsors and executives covering progress, forecasts, risks, decisions, financials, and recovery actions.
  • Facilitate requirements, planning, risk, readiness, and lessons-learned sessions, converting discussions into decisions, owners, and dated actions.
  • Manage third-party delivery performance, statements of work, milestones, invoices, dependencies, and contractual obligations in partnership with procurement, legal, finance, and technical owners.
  • Coordinate testing, security and compliance reviews, data conversion, cutover, training, communications, support readiness, and operational handoff as appropriate.
  • Partner with change leaders and business owners to support stakeholder readiness, adoption, benefit realization, and sustained use of delivered capabilities.
  • Maintain complete, audit-ready project records, including approvals, decisions, plans, financials, change requests, acceptance evidence, and closeout documentation.
  • Contribute to improving DBM Global’s project delivery standards, templates, portfolio reporting, lessons learned, and governance practices.
