About The Position

LMI is seeking an IT Project Lifecycle Manager to support the Office of Security at a mission-focused federal government client. This early-career role supports coordination, scheduling, reporting, and stakeholder communication across multiple concurrent IT modernization initiatives. The position works under the direction of a senior project management lead in a dynamic environment where processes and structures are still developing. The successful candidate will be organized, proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, and eager to learn. The role supports project lifecycle activities across initiatives involving software development, data analytics, cybersecurity coordination, and business process improvement. It provides structure, visibility, and reporting discipline across work performed by government personnel, contractors, and technical teams outside the project management office's direct authority. The position is based in Reston, Virginia, and requires an active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph; eligible applicants with TS/SCI may be sponsored for a polygraph upgrade.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Two to four years of experience supporting federal project lifecycle activities, including planning, scheduling, execution monitoring, reporting, and closeout.
  • Ability to produce and maintain recurring status reports, trackers, and project artifacts across multiple concurrent projects, and refine reporting products as needs evolve.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects with different stakeholders, schedules, and dependencies.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and maintain information flow from a support-oriented, rather than authority-based, posture.
  • Ability to identify, track, and escalate risks, issues, dependencies, and action items.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph required. Applicants with TS/SCI who are eligible for a polygraph may apply and will be sponsored for an upgrade.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, CSM, CSPO, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or similar certification.

Responsibilities

  • Support project lifecycle coordination across IT modernization initiatives, including software development, data analytics, cybersecurity coordination, and business process improvement.
  • Provide weekly status reports covering schedule health, development progress, security assessment status, staffing, risks, issues, documentation, and upcoming milestones.
  • Build and refine reporting templates, trackers, and structures, incorporating feedback and adapting to evolving leadership priorities.
  • Coordinate with project teams, system owners, technical staff, and external contractors to maintain information flow and accurate, timely reporting.
  • Maintain project schedules, milestone trackers, dependency logs, risk and issue logs, and action item registers across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Support requirements validation by documenting business needs, identifying gaps, and tracking alignment with client priorities.
  • Prepare project artifacts, including meeting notes, status summaries, briefings, and lifecycle documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Business Modernization and Project Lifecycle Lead, government stakeholders, project sponsors, and execution teams.
