About The Position

Amentum is seeking an IT Project Manager to support the US DOE Office of Legacy Management IT Projects team. The role participates on teams developing new IT capabilities and modernizing or enhancing existing capabilities, artifacts, and processes. It plans and manages the execution of medium- to large-sized, complex IT projects. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Travel is less than 5%.

Requirements

At least 7 years of applicable, proven experience leading Information Technology or Services projects.
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or applicable experience in lieu of education.
Valid driver’s license.
Developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical jargon into simple business language.
Ability to understand and apply project management methodologies and practices.
Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain facility credentials or authorization at this work location.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials or authorization.
Must complete required drug screening, background check, driver record screen, and physical assessment if applicable.

Nice To Haves

PMP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead or contribute to the design, selection, installation, modification, and operation of information systems capabilities.
Apply project management practices and methodologies.
Follow standard procedures for assigned applications.
Develop documentation and deliver training on application fundamentals.
Manage project scheduling and costs.
Complete assignments according to standard operating procedures and use judgment to propose solutions for non-standard assignments.
Develop cost estimates and project plans, and execute projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
