IT Project Manager/Systems Administrator

MARKI MICROWAVE LLCMorgan Hill, CA

About The Position

The IT Project Manager / Systems Administrator is an experienced, organized, and technically capable IT professional joining our team in a hybrid role: part IT project manager, part junior systems administrator. You'll own the coordination and delivery of IT initiatives across the organization while working hands-on in our enterprise environment alongside senior team members. This role is a fit for someone with a few jobs into their career who has built solid systems administration fundamentals. Likely in a junior system admin or MSP role who is ready to broaden their scope. You'll take ownership of the IT project portfolio, mature our documentation and process practices, and continue to sharpen your technical depth across a full Microsoft enterprise stack. The role has exposure to security, compliance, infrastructure, and data, with a clear path to grow into senior systems responsibilities over time.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field like computer science or information systems.
  • 3–9 years of progressive experience in IT support, systems administration, or a closely related role.
  • Demonstrated ability to run projects and drive initiatives to completion without heavy supervision.
  • Strong organizational and documentation instincts; you leave environments more legible than you found them.
  • Clear written and verbal communication. Comfortable presenting to leadership and translating between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Hands-on administration experience with Microsoft 365 Entra, and Active Directory
  • Solid troubleshooting skills across Windows endpoints, common business applications, and basic networking.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience at a Managed Service Provider (MSP).
  • Exposure to regulatory or security frameworks such as CMMC, NIST 800-171, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
  • Working knowledge of any of the following: Entra ID / Conditional Access, Exchange Online, SharePoint administration, Intune, Cisco Meraki, Azure, Veeam or similar backup platforms.
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell preferred; Python a plus).
  • Experience with formal change management practices.
  • Experience in regulated or manufacturing environments.
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft MS-900/AZ-900/MS-102, ITIL Foundation, PMP/CAPM, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Own IT projects end-to-end: scope, timelines, stakeholder communication, risk tracking, and delivery.
  • Maintain the IT project portfolio, backlog, and roadmap. Keep status visible to leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Lead IT documentation practices: standard operating procedures, system inventories, vendor records, and knowledge base content.
  • Drive IT compliance activities, including evidence collection, policy documentation, and audit preparation.
  • Manage vendor and licensing relationships, including renewals, quotes, and procurement coordination.
  • Facilitate IT meetings, track action items, and keep initiatives from stalling.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams), Entra ID, and Active Directory: user lifecycle, group and license management, access reviews, and policy configuration.
  • Support endpoint management, including device deployment, patching, and Intune/Defender operations.
  • Support networking operations on Cisco Meraki: troubleshooting, change management, and documentation.
  • Monitor and maintain backup operations; assist with infrastructure health checks and routine maintenance.
  • Cross-train with senior team members on infrastructure, security, and cloud systems; the role is structured with meaningful runway to take on deeper technical ownership.
