About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IT Project Coordinator to support the planning, tracking, and successful delivery of IT projects. This role focuses primarily on project coordination and administration within the Information Technology department, with additional light administrative support provided to the IT leadership and Team. The role will also interface with other Cooper Steel departments and their projects that have an IT component. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with project management tools, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination, project support, or a similar role (IT environment strongly preferred)
  • Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools such as Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project, or equivalent
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the execution of IT projects, including software implementations, infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and other technology initiatives
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, such as project plans, timelines, status reports, risk logs, and meeting notes
  • Track project progress, monitor milestones and deadlines, and proactively escalate risks or issues to the Project Manager / Stakeholders.
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings: schedule sessions, prepare agendas, capture action items, and follow up on deliverables
  • Manage and update project management platforms (Jira, Microsoft Project, Asana, Monday.com, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Assist with resource scheduling, budget tracking, and vendor coordination
  • Support change management processes and ensure all project changes are properly documented and communicated
  • Prepare regular project status reports for stakeholders
  • Provide light administrative assistance to the IT department, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars for the IT leadership team, and coordinating travel when needed
  • Handle departmental correspondence and maintain organized filing systems for project and IT records
  • Assist with onboarding new IT team members and preparing necessary access and equipment requests
  • Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and project-related documentation
