About The Position

Sun Tran is seeking a skilled, solutions-driven IT Programmer to support the design, development, and maintenance of the organization’s information systems and databases. The role involves writing SQL queries and Crystal Reports, maintaining database performance, managing system upgrades, and ensuring data accuracy and security across multiple platforms.

The IT Programmer collaborates with departments, operational staff, and external partners to analyze workflows, document requirements, and design solutions aligned with operational goals. The position serves as a full-stack programmer, developing and deploying front-end interfaces, scripts, server-side business logic, and back-end database systems. It also supports database administration, system maintenance and upgrades, troubleshooting, project management, and software testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Five years of experience in software development.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and report writing using Crystal Reports or Power BI.
• Practical experience in database administration or systems management, including routine maintenance, performance audits, and system upgrades.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and transit operations software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with departments, operational staff, and external partners to analyze business workflows, document requirements, and design solutions aligned with operational goals.
• Design, code, enhance, and deploy responsive front-end user interfaces, scripts, server-side business logic, and back-end database systems.
• Write complex SQL queries, generate reports using tools such as Crystal Reports or Power BI, and integrate specialized enterprise technologies such as mobile data and vehicle tracking systems.
• Assist with database administration, routine maintenance scripts, performance audits, and system upgrades to ensure data accuracy, security, and regular backups.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and production issues across all layers of the software stack.
• Manage project lifecycles, create project plans, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accountability and project success.
• Develop and execute test plans and test data to validate program integrity before release.
