About The Position

As an IT Product Owner I, you'll be collaborating closely with experienced product owners and cross-functional teams to gain hands-on experience in understanding the voice of the customer and product management methodologies. You'll collaborate to translate requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria. You'll participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups, guiding the team in delivering high-quality, customer-centric solutions on time and within budget. With a focus on continuous improvement, you'll gather feedback, measure product performance, and iterate on features to enhance the user experience and drive business outcomes. With guidance and mentorship from seasoned professionals, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills in product management, agile methodology, and stakeholder communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information systems preferred)
  • Less than one year of relevant or practical experience.
  • Effective communication, able to present to team and management.
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies and adapt to change.
  • Foundational knowledge of Agile Product and Waterfall methodology.
  • Value-based decision-making.
  • Analytical skills for diagnosing and solving issues.
  • Managing time, prioritizing tasks, and handling responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and observe how to work closely with stakeholders, including customers, sales, marketing, and engineering teams, to gather and prioritize product requirements.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining the product roadmap, defining features, and release timelines based on business objectives and user needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment and execution of product initiatives.
  • Understand how to prioritize features and enhancements based on their impact on user experience, business value, and technical feasibility.
  • Observe and learn to coordinate project activities, tasks, and timelines, ensuring that milestones are met and deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
  • Create and maintain product documentation, including user stories, feature specifications, and release notes, to communicate requirements and updates to stakeholders.
  • Learn and observe how user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of product features work to ensure they meet quality standards and user expectations.
  • Understanding and assisting in defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure product performance and success.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for improvement, gathering feedback from users and stakeholders to iterate on product features and enhance the overall user experience.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in product management, seeking out learning opportunities to grow and develop in the role.
  • Provide support to customer-facing teams, including responding to customer inquiries, addressing product-related issues, and assisting with customer training and onboarding.
  • Collaborate with product management peers and other team members, sharing knowledge, insights, and best practices to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Perform other assigned job-related duties that align with our organization's vision, mission, and values and fall within your scope of practice.
