IT/OT Solutions Architect / Architecte de solutions TI/TO

Teledyne Technologies IncorporatedBromont, QC
Onsite

About The Position

The IT/OT Solutions Architect designs, governs, and evolves the integrated Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) in accordance with Teledyne IT Shared Services Enterprise standards landscape supporting Teledyne's MEMS semiconductor manufacturing operations. With a primary focus on OT (approximately 75%), the architect ensures that fab equipment, manufacturing execution systems, process control, and shop-floor networks are secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned with Teledyne enterprise IT standards. The role starts with the Bromont fab and progressively extends to additional Teledyne manufacturing sites such as Edmonton.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 8+ years in IT/OT, industrial automation, or manufacturing IT, with 3+ years in an architect or senior technical lead role.
  • Deep experience in a regulated manufacturing environment — semiconductor, MEMS, microelectronics, pharma, or aerospace preferred.
  • Hands-on expertise with OT protocols and platforms: SECS/GEM, OPC UA, MES (e.g., Critical Manufacturing, Camstar, Eyelit, or equivalent), SCADA, historians (PI, Ignition).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial networking, segmentation, and the Purdue Model.
  • Solid grasp of OT cybersecurity frameworks (IEC 62443, NIST CSF) and practical experience hardening industrial environments.
  • Experience integrating OT data with enterprise systems (ERP, EDW, cloud analytics).
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-site or greenfield OT deployments.
  • Bilingual French / English (Bromont site is francophone; multi-site collaboration is in English).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in semiconductor wafer fab operations and tool integration.
  • Familiarity with Azure (IoT, Data Services), Databricks, or equivalent industrial data platforms.
  • Certifications: TOGAF, IEC 62443, CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with edge computing, AI/ML for manufacturing, and predictive analytics.
  • Knowledge of ITIL and change management in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the end-to-end OT reference architecture for the fab: equipment connectivity (SECS/GEM, OPC UA, EtherNet/IP, Modbus), MES, SCADA, historians, process data lakes, recipe management, and equipment integration platforms.
  • Architect secure, segmented OT networks aligned with the ISA-95 / Purdue Model (Levels 0–3) and the IT/OT DMZ (Level 3.5).
  • Lead OT cybersecurity architecture aligned with IEC 62443, NIST CSF, and Teledyne security standards — including segmentation, asset inventory, patching strategy, anomaly detection, and secure remote access for vendors.
  • Govern integration patterns between fab equipment, MES, ERP, quality systems, and analytics platforms.
  • Define standards for industrial data acquisition, contextualization, and pipelines feeding manufacturing analytics and AI/ML use cases (yield, OEE, predictive maintenance).
  • Partner with Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Facilities, and Manufacturing IT to translate operational requirements into resilient technical solutions.
  • Evaluate and qualify new OT technologies, vendors, and platforms; lead proofs of concept.
  • Manage OT lifecycle: obsolescence planning, upgrade roadmaps, and change control for equipment-impacting systems.
  • Ensure alignment between OT solutions and enterprise IT (identity, networking, cloud, endpoint, data, and security domains).
  • Contribute to enterprise architecture decisions where IT systems interface with manufacturing (ERP, PLM, quality, EDW).
  • Support cloud and hybrid integration patterns (Azure preferred) for manufacturing data and applications.
  • Establish a repeatable OT architecture blueprint usable across Teledyne fabs.
  • Lead the architectural rollout to Edmonton and future sites — adapting standards to local equipment fleets and regulatory contexts.
  • Build and mentor a cross-site OT architecture community of practice.
  • Produce and maintain architecture artifacts: reference diagrams, standards, design decisions (ADRs), security baselines, integration patterns.
  • Chair or participate in architecture review boards for fab projects.
  • Provide architectural oversight on capital projects, tool installs, and major OT/IT initiatives.
  • Manage technical risk, document trade-offs, and present recommendations to IT and Operations leadership.
