About The Position

We are looking for someone with diverse skills and some background in this space to carry out a broad range of operational service and support assignments. You'll work under minimal supervision on data center management, maintenance, installs and decommissioning, performance, and incident management, as well as technical support activities.

  • Strong financial management skills in budgeting, forecasting and cost control
  • A deep understanding of the interdependent relationship between infrastructure and the applications/ services they enable as well as the critically of maintaining strong connections between the respective teams within IT
  • Ability to see the “big picture” across such areas as the private and public cloud hosted infrastructure and services. In addition to physical DC security, telecommunications, enterprise storage.
  • Functional understanding of project management principles and their application to infrastructure projects and teams
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems and work with teams globally
  • Ability to work independently in a senior/lead role on a diverse range of tasks and coach/educate others.
  • Subject matter expert and consults with clients, team, and/or project team to provide technical guidance and highly complex troubleshooting/problem resolution.
  • Experience as a subject matter expert and consultant who can impart technical guidance and engage in highly complex troubleshooting/problem resolution.
  • Working knowledge of Service Now and Microsoft products
  • 5-10 years of data center management with extensive experience working with IT hardware, databases, and Ethernet cable infrastructure
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly to a high level of proficiency
  • Service Now, Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic technology initiatives, build, and maintain key elements of the firm’s enterprise infrastructure and associated project portfolio
  • Provide leadership for delivery of 24/7 service operations and KPI compliance and audit. Establish and maintain metrics, key performance indicators, and service level agreements to continually improve the DC performance.
  • Manage remote sites as well as schedule/monitor work performed by third party vendors.
  • Business Continuity Plan Management, assuring our BCP documentation is current and approved by management
  • Attend meetings to capture business requirements for DC Capacity planning and workflow management. Maintaining corporate databases and ensuring compliance with internal and external audit regulations.
  • Support applications and systems by meeting or exceeding standards and service levels while minimizing operational risk.
  • Promptly schedule equipment installs and cabling request, engage partners. plan parallel work streams when possible.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders to improve production environment stability.
  • Leads the support of Data Center infrastructure
  • Reviews, participates, and implements procedures.
  • Research industry standards, best practices and new innovations in technology and makes recommendations.
  • Provide quality service and solutions consistent with objectives and client requirements.
  • Effectively handle incident management for outages.
  • Ensure timely notification and escalation of possible issues/problems, options, and recommendations for prompt resolution.
  • Dive into design, review, and integration of all application requirements like functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations.
  • Proficient with fluke testers and fiber testers, and scanners
  • Knowledge of interrelated power, space, and cooling as it relates to Data Centers
  • Provide expertise to other functional areas (technology, trends, and processes).
  • Join projects aimed at evolving the base infrastructure, deploying new technologies, or optimizing the operational environment.
  • Deploy base infrastructure components for all environments.
  • Follow change management procedures. ensure proper testing, sign-off, monitoring.
  • Monitor system life cycles, ensure specifications and functionality support business. objectives and architecture decisions.
  • Use meaningful metrics to monitor environment's performance.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning (Define, Review, Test).
  • Traveling between sites is required occasionally
